The piano is one of the most popular instruments for any musician, and can be learnt by anyone. Most musicians need at least some familiarity with the instrument (although notable exceptions do exist!) due to its versatility.

A learner will need access to either a digital or an acoustic piano for home practice. This means the keys are “weighted” and have the correct action to allow loud and soft playing. Your instrument should also have at least one pedal to help you get the correct sound out of your playing.
